As you may be aware, the Cedar Rapids Community School District has initiated its search for a new superintendent. To counsel us through this important process, we have retained the services of Hazard, Young, Attea & Associates (HYA), a consulting firm that specializes in assisting school boards with the consideration of candidates for superintendent.
A key step in this process is to identify the characteristics we will be seeking in our new superintendent. During November 10-11, 2022, Hazard, Young, Attea, and Associates (HYA) hosted 27 sessions. They met with parents, students, administrators, teachers, community partners and community members. HYA also obtained feedback received from an online survey. With this information, HYA will develop the firm’s leadership profile summary report.
On Monday, November 21, a HYA firm representative will present the leadership profile summary report to the Board of Education. During the meeting, Board members will develop a profile of leadership qualities and criteria to be used in the hiring process for the next CRCSD superintendent. The special board meeting will take place on Monday, November 21, at 5:30 pm in the boardroom at the ELSC.
