The ribbon has been cut and West Willow Elementary School is officially open.

The public was invited to a special ribbon cutting ceremony and open house on Tuesday, Dec. 21. Hundreds gathered to celebrate the new school.

“We spent many years preparing for the day we would be residing in this wonderful new learning environment,” said Greg O’Connell, West Willow principal. “It has been so appreciated how [staff has] demonstrated a lot of patience and flexibility as we made it through many hurdles last year during construction.”

After the ceremony, student volunteers led visitors on guided tours of the building.

“This is a precious moment for all the children that are here in our building and those that will be walking through the doors for many years to come,” added O’Connell. “Thanks for making it a reality for our community.”
