CRCSD recognizes that November is Native American Heritage Month. It’s also commonly known as American Indian and Alaska Native Heritage Month. This designated time helps acknowledge our Native community’s important contributions and celebrates their diverse cultures, traditions, and histories.

The Sac & Fox Tribe of the Mississippi, known as Meskwaki Nation is Iowa’s only federally recognized Indian tribe. Their settlement is located in Tama, Iowa, and is comprised of more than 8,624 acres, has more than 1,450 enrolled tribal members, and is the largest employer in Tama County.
