The Cedar Rapids Community School District (CRCSD) is excited to announce the implementation of a cashless, digital ticketing system for all high school athletic events. This shift is designed to enhance safety and improve convenience for both attendees and volunteers while also aligning with environmentally sustainable practices.

Why Go Cashless?: Moving to a digital ticketing system ensures a safer environment for volunteers and staff, reducing the risks associated with handling large amounts of cash. Additionally, it provides greater convenience for parents, students, and community members by allowing tickets to be purchased online at any time, from any location. The cashless digital system also aims to streamline entry into events and reduce wait times at the ticket counter. This method is also more sustainable and eco-friendly by reducing paper tickets.

How It Works: Tickets for all CRCSD home, regular season high school athletic events can now be purchased online through each high school’s Bound Sports website or the Bound mobile app (Google Play and Apple App Store), which offers both single event and season pass ticket options. Once purchased, tickets can be stored digitally on a smartphone or printed for convenience. On game day, attendees will simply present the ticket QR code on their smartphone or the printed copy to be scanned for entrance. For those who prefer to purchase tickets on-site, the district will offer touchless payment options, such as Apple Pay, Google Pay, and credit or debit cards at the ticket counters.

We understand that transitioning to a new system and procedure can bring many questions and concerns. Click here to learn more about the Bound ticketing system.

Partnership With Bound: CRCSD has been using the Bound platform for several years for high school activity management, including scheduling, team rosters, and state reporting. The Iowa High School Athletic Association and the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union also use the platform to record team/player statistics and to sell tickets for state competitions. It seemed like a natural next step for the district to use this free platform for digital ticketing.

What About Families Without Access to Digital Devices?: CRCSD recognizes that not all families have access to digital devices. To address this, the district is offering assistance through each high school’s activities office or the CRCSD Educational Leadership and Support Center. Staff will be available to help families navigate the new system and ensure they can still attend events.

We look forward to seeing you at upcoming events and thank you for your support in making this transition as smooth as possible!
