This is a research study focused on vocabulary development in children. It involves children ages 5–14 who are either blind or sighted and examines how they learn and understand words. Participation is completed online using a computer with a camera, microphone, and internet connection. Children must be English speakers who hear English for at least three hours a day and must not have hearing loss, intellectual disability, or deaf blindness. For children who are blind, they must have no more than light perception and must have been totally blind by age 1. Families who complete the study will receive an Amazon e-gift card, with $250 for families of children who are blind and $100 for families of children who are sighted.
