The Cedar Rapids Community School District transportation team is committed to getting your student to and from school safely and on time. With a fleet of 114 buses and 30 vans traveling nearly one million miles every year, we are proud to be a reliable link between home and the classroom.

Our Commitment to Green Energy

We are leading the way in sustainable school transit. Thanks to over $900,000 in grant funding and a partnership with Alliant Energy, our fleet is evolving to include:

  • 21 Propane Buses: Reducing emissions throughout Linn County.
  • Electric Bus Initiative: Utilizing cutting-edge Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G) technology to power our schools more efficiently.

Free City Transit for Students

In partnership with the City of Cedar Rapids, our students can ride fixed-route city buses for free year-round.

  • High Schoolers: Simply show your student ID when boarding.
  • Elementary & Middle Schoolers: Ride for free—no ID required.
